Unit 29 Good and bad music techniques

Good music video techniques

Lip synching  -   Music video By nickel back song is how you remind me which has the music cutting between a narrative and the musicians singing while playing insterments and you can clearly se the musicians  lip sync to their music perfectly.

Cutting to the beat-   The song sing and flows with what is shown on screen keep which makes it visually appealing to look at while also listening to which makes such a great to cutting to the beat while people are dancing in the music to the beat.

Number of cuts  -

Special effects  -   The song bring me back to life by Evanscenes uses a green screen to show the musicians falling of a high building which looks real.

Bad music video techniques

Lip synching  - In the the music video boom boom by Rachel K Collier there is absolutely no lip music and only  music that plays over the whole video. This is bad as people may not be familiar with artist so they might get the wrong idea and think the music video is false copy righted.

Cutting to the beat-  The music video Rise by Katy part doesn't match at all with the eletronic beats in the background making feel as if it doesn't belong.

Number of cuts  -  The music video lacks cuts while it has an pup beat tone there still frames just moving a camera which is tracking shot.

Special effects  -  The music seemed to use a filter to make everything lifter in the video but it felt out place along with the musician playing violin while you can you can't even hear any
violins playing. There is also the fact that for the music video green screen it used another video in the background making it blue which felt odd which didn't contrast.

Unit 29 Music video techniques

The music video This is war by thirty seconds to mars is a pretty bad music the video is 6 minutes long which is the above average of a music and it feel like its telling a narrative more than actually watching a music video. The song also completely stops playing for the narrative and the dialogue  which is terrible as a music video should be listened with music no one wants to just hear someone speak without singing  in a music video. This is in 2:00 to 2:30

There is also barely any lip syncing in the video therefor you almost don't know who the main singer even is in the song. The only way you know the main lead is the singer is when he lips and only around 0:50 until the end of the video which is serenely lacking.

The music video doesn't seems like its trying to cut more like its trying to get as music video and image as the representation of war more than any thing else which seem unnecessary.

There is also the problem with the chroma key where there are multiply locations taking place in the video mainly the desert which fits the music video as it feels dry and doesn't  feel like enough effort was put into the video even if the music song is actually good.
