Weekly Production log 2
The second week of progression for our music video. My team and each had to come up with our own music video and how go about doing it. We made out own pitch presentation to show to our class our idea for our music video. The pitch included what kind of conventions I would have along with the targets to the audiences, cast and last but not least production schedule. This was we would get a solid idea for our music in order for me and team would have different idea so that once we have pitched our idea for a music video. Once my team and I had done our pitches we all came to a choice on who’s music video we would all deiced to work on together.

Weekly Production log 1
On the first week I did sufficient amount of research on different types of music video. This was so when my team and I were to make our own music video we would get enough influences on making our own. We also started transcribing on the first were we started lip-syncing to a music video of our choosing. This is was so when my team and I were to film our selves in the music video lip-syncing we wouldn't feel stressed and out wouldn't feel anxious when being recorded. On the first week I also wrote all of necessary requirements before me and my team could start planning for our music video. I wrote all the risk assessments, which could happen, in creating our music. We had to talking all the risk we could face when recording. We also talked about the location that we would be filming and how we would get there. Which allowed me to analyse most the possible risks.

Unit 29 Music production
Stars as construction - This is musicians changing them for the record labels so that it appeal to a certain range of people from their age to their gender, race. By musicians changing them selves to suit the requirement audiences they are likely to get more attention by people therefor gain more fan which in turn makes more money for the musician and the record label. An example of such a musician would be Ariana Grande which has been pretty much in spot as a very talent musicians with a lot of potential. For the most put she puts on a facade for the record label her fans so that she gets more attention. She looks her absolute best but her real attired just doesn't match as stated she has been in argument and even said once that she would just wish all her fans would die. This puts the her in a negative spot along with losing fans because without them than she wouldn't be a start that she is now. Ariana Grande's fans mostly consist of girls from the ages of 6 to 18 of all races.

Unit 29 Good and bad music techniques
Good music video techniques
Lip synching - Music video By nickel back song is how you remind me which has the music cutting between a narrative and the musicians singing while playing insterments and you can clearly se the musicians lip sync to their music perfectly.

Cutting to the beat- The song sing and flows with what is shown on screen keep which makes it visually appealing to look at while also listening to which makes such a great to cutting to the beat while people are dancing in the music to the beat.
Number of cuts -
Special effects - The song bring me back to life by Evanscenes uses a green screen to show the musicians falling of a high building which looks real.
Camera language -
Bad music video techniques
Lip synching - In the the music video boom boom by Rachel K Collier there is absolutely no lip music and only music that plays over the whole video. This is bad as people may not be familiar with artist so they might get the wrong idea and think the music video is false copy righted.

Cutting to the beat- The music video Rise by Katy part doesn't match at all with the eletronic beats in the background making feel as if it doesn't belong.
Number of cuts - The music video lacks cuts while it has an pup beat tone there still frames just moving a camera which is tracking shot.
Special effects - The music seemed to use a filter to make everything lifter in the video but it felt out place along with the musician playing violin while you can you can't even hear any
violins playing. There is also the fact that for the music video green screen it used another video in the background making it blue which felt odd which didn't contrast.

Unit 29 Music video techniques
The music video This is war by thirty seconds to mars is a pretty bad music the video is 6 minutes long which is the above average of a music and it feel like its telling a narrative more than actually watching a music video. The song also completely stops playing for the narrative and the dialogue which is terrible as a music video should be listened with music no one wants to just hear someone speak without singing in a music video. This is in 2:00 to 2:30
There is also barely any lip syncing in the video therefor you almost don't know who the main singer even is in the song. The only way you know the main lead is the singer is when he lips and only around 0:50 until the end of the video which is serenely lacking.
The music video doesn't seems like its trying to cut more like its trying to get as music video and image as the representation of war more than any thing else which seem unnecessary.
There is also the problem with the chroma key where there are multiply locations taking place in the video mainly the desert which fits the music video as it feels dry and doesn't feel like enough effort was put into the video even if the music song is actually good.

Purpose of music videos
The Representation Of The Musician
Artist the most important thing in a music as they are the creators of music and without them their would be no music to begin with in the first time. With that said musician put their heart and soul into the songs which why a lot of people think that their songs represent a part of the musicians.
An example would be the musicians Jason Derulo which has song with most of them being about his love relationships also seems to be telling a story along with that. But songs from musicians only represent part of musicians and because of musicians song they might get a positive or negative reputation with their audience.
A lot of Jason Derulo music videos have female surrounding him repenting that he is isn't a serious person when comes to having a relationship along with a person not being loyal to one person from one of music videos "Watcha say” or "Don't wanna go home".
Synergy
Synergy is when two or more things are cooperating and put together. For musicians an example would be to movie creators. By working with a movie and adding their songs in a movie it promotes the movie and the movie also promotes the artist so both gain something out of it.
This leads to people buying merchandise or even movies along with albums of the musicians in the movie. An example of this would be the Disney movie Zootopia that has Shakira the musician be a character in the actual movie along with being the theme song of the movie. This is one of synergy. This also creates long playability making the movie and the artist gain money and popularity as a result of the cooperation of Disney production and Shakira working together.
Major, Indie and Unsigned record Labels
The major record try to make the best use of musicians as much as possible so that they make as much money as possible by people buying tickets to see the musicians live performance or even buying musicians albums. The more record labels musicians the better as they have more connections so musicians are likely to get more promoted as a result they gain more money. If musicians only had one independent record label they won't be as many connection and as a result they won't be getting promoted much so they don't gain as much money as a result. Unsigned musicians also have a very much hard time to be noticed if they don't have connection even if they are very talented as a musician.
Extension Of Outlet
Extension outlet is access from multiply areas this is so that musicians get people to listen to their music as much as possible and if the audience like song than they might consider that it might be worth buying the soundtracks of musicians Access would be example such as iTunes, iCloud YouTube and Deezer. DVD and cassettes are also a way for musicians to gain money from their fans so there is almost no reason for people not to buy a musicians songs or merchandise unless they can't afford the buying the songs, merchandise.
Times people download songs illegal, which means that people listen to the songs for free without paying buy people doing this musicians and music, lose out on money because of this. People most likely to do because they think the musician’s songs are expensive for a sound track or even an album. If caught people can go to prison if not paid for the fined or they can get sued over illegal streaming. One person has small effect but it is know that over 30 million people have illegally downloaded songs the effect means that the music industry isn't as good as it should be because people are not actually buying musicians songs and are just downloading them for free without any kind of consequence. Statistic shows that the music has lost more than $12.5 billion because of people illegally downloading songs.
This also affects the record labels which means that they find it hard to promote musicians as promoting something large such as musicians takes a lot of money and it set back when people decide not to buy the musicians songs.

Convention of a music video
Performance - Performance is the live performance from music artistic live action performance. Live actions Performances used to the music artist to self promote them selves along with getting their fan excited to come to their performance. Performance can also lead to fan buying musicians merchandise only at the performance leading the musicians to gain money.
One such example would be by the musicians Jay Z and Rihanna live action performance run this town.
Narrative - Narratuve is telling a story in a music video. Narratives are used to send people a message most of than not its a message about life lessons. Other times its a story about musicians them selves and something they have been through. Musicians also do this so that they get some emotions from the audience. Such music video would be one such as Eminem music video Headlights.
Conceptual - Comceptual music video are video which have deep a thought provoking message to them and isn't to unravel like other music videos which have a narrative to them unlike narratie conceotual isn't clear and people may not even under the message in the first place.
Interruptive - Interruptive is when a music video lyrics make sense with the scenes shown on screen. This is almost like the narrative expect its pretty straight forward on the story line and the audience understand clear what is happening in the music video along with the music video.
Music videos such as like the way you lie or Payphone. These tell story which can also be a life lesson to most.
Music videos such as like the way you lie or Payphone. These tell story which can also be a life lesson to most.
Animation - The animation music videos are limitless when comes to creativity as it is not in real life and so a lot of creativity can go into making a animated music video. Some of the reasons to make a animated music video instead of a regular one would be to stick out among the music crowd as animated music videos are uncommon. Since its the 21st centuary new technology has been created and computer have been improved because people have a better opportunity to create animated music videos.
Surreal - Surreal is the unnatural unrealistic music videos which done for multiplay reason such the msuicans the expressing them selves and ect.
One of my examples would be the music video turn me on by Nicki Minaj. This music uses CGI for the unrealistic effects of the video such as when a robot is singing with no video of voice box while alos being repaired.
